Good Lord where to start. I am a Federal contractor who lost his job due to a "whistleblower" situation a little over a year ago. I collected unemployment until that ran out and then we had to resort to selling off our valuables and even selling blood plasma just to live. Thankfully, recently the government passed an emergency extension of unemployment benefits and we got that and since we've found it impossible to find work where we are in Arkansas we are packing to move to the Northern Virginia / Washington DC area where I know I can quickly find work. Our problem is we have VERY limited funds and will need to find a place to live while we seek work - and still be able to eat and have transportation etc. It is just me and my wife and we are both 52 years old and we've both always been able to find good jobs quickly we just came here where we are in Hot Sprnigs AR because it was cheap living and it did help to stretch our money after I lost my job. Big mistake! Nobody here is hiring computer and electronics engineers and unless you are willing to work fast food or something like that there are no jobs to be had. We are leaving tonight or by Monday 11/3/08 at the latest and just need a place to live that is safe and clean and hopefully near a Metro station or bus line.
